Radicale Caff Strawberry Co-Ferment 1 kg of green coffee for home roasting. This unroasted coffee is intended for home roasters and coffee enthusiasts who want to roast their own specialty coffee. The green beans come from Sumatra and were processed using an exceptional co-fermentation method. Origin and processing: The hand-selected Arabica beans are the Catimor variety and come from Bang Edi and his farmer community in Simalem, above Lake Toba at approximately 1,400 meters. The freshly pulped coffee cherries were anaerobically fermented together with real strawberries in closed tanks for 5 days. During this time, the fruit sugars and aromas combine with the coffee. The beans were then washed, dried on raised beds to approximately 11.5% moisture, sorted by density and size, and hand-selected one final time. The entire process was accompanied by certified Q Graders. Roasted result: A full-bodied, natural specialty coffee with notes of strawberry milkshake and milk chocolate, plus a silky-smooth mouthfeelwithout artificial flavors, oils, or syrups. Under optimal storage conditions, the beans remain fresh for more than 12 months; the green beans can remain fresh for 1224 months when stored cool, dry, and airtight. The co-fermentation aromas are retained. Important: These are UNROASTED green coffee beans. You need a coffee roaster, such as a Gene Cafe, Behmor, popcorn machine, or pan, to prepare the coffee. The beans must be roasted before they can be ground and brewed. FAQ: Are artificial flavors added to the coffee? No. The strawberry aroma develops exclusively through co-fermentation with real strawberries during processing. No artificial flavors or oils are used. Can I use these beans directly? No. They are unroasted green beans and must be roasted first. What roast level is recommended? Light to medium (City to Full City) to best highlight the fruity strawberry notes. The delicate fruit notes diminish with a dark roast. Is this fair trade? Yes. We work directly with Bang Edi and pay well above Fair Trade prices. We visit the farm regularly in person, most recently in August 2025.
