Matching neck piece for the Bucas Power Turnout Classic Cut turnout blanket. This neck piece fits the premium Bucas Power Turnout turnout blanket. It is secured to the blanket on the left and right with hook-and-loop fasteners. At the front of the neck, it also closes with hook-and-loop fasteners and is adjustable in size. Like the blanket, the neck piece is waterproof, windproof, breathable, and suitable for a wide temperature range. (The blanket shown in the title image is not included.) Material and features The outer material of the neck piece, like the blanket, is made of ballistic nylon and reflects sunlight outward and body heat inward. A layer of Stay-Dry fabric is incorporated between the outer shell and the inner lining. This supports the neck pieces excellent breathability. The neck piece is lined with silky-soft polyester fabric to help prevent chafing. Why use a neck piece? A horses neck contains some of its largest muscles. It is important to keep these muscles warm during winter. Horses lose a great deal of heat through the neck, and in winter it takes longer to warm the neck muscles. A neck piece keeps this area warm and thereby reduces the risk of the horse losing muscle mass or straining a neck muscle. It helps maintain the neck muscles throughout a long winter.
