Product description Dupla Ground Colour colored gravel for freshwater aquariums is the first choice when selecting the perfect substrate for an aquarium. Choosing the right gravel is essential for successful aquarium operation. The substrate has many functions: It must provide plants with a suitable medium in which they can securely establish roots and gain sufficient support. It must also have the right grain size to transport essential nutrients to the plant roots. A combination of Dupla Depot Mix active and Dupla Ground Colour creates the best conditions for strong, healthy plant growth. Using an undergravel heater, such as the Dupla Thermik Set, also requires gravel with the right grain size to allow good heat and water circulation. The right substrate is important not only for plants. Thanks to its special grain size, Dupla Ground Colour protects the sensitive barbels of bottom-dwelling animals such as corydoras, loaches, and similar fish, which actively search the substrate for usable food remains. Gravel with sharp edges could injure the animals' sensitive barbels. Dupla Ground Colour is pH-neutral, CO2-resistant, medication-resistant, and completely free of harmful substances. Safe for all aquarium inhabitants! Tip: Calculate the required amount of substrate by multiplying the aquarium length (cm) by the width (cm) and dividing by 140. The result is the amount of substrate needed for a 5 cm layer. Example: 100 cm length 40 cm width 140 = 28.6 kg. Application: Rinse Dupla Ground Colour with cold tap water to remove, for example, abrasion residue.
