FRIO offers an effective and economical way to keep insulin cool without electricity or cooling elements. Simply immerse the inner pouch in cold water; the crystals form a gel. Place the insulin inside, and an evaporation system keeps it cool. The included outer pouch protects surrounding items in a handbag or suitcase. FRIO cases can be reused many times and may also be used for medications that should not exceed room temperature, such as insulin, epinephrine, Norvir, glaucoma eye drops, and Nitrolingual pump spray. All cases have one compartment with no internal dividers. The stated dimensions refer to the inner pouch. If you use a digital or metal pen, an additional nylon inner pouch is required to protect it from moisture; this is available for all FRIO cases.
