Description

  • STORY: The Gemnden family winery has existed since 1926. Daniel Gemnden joined the business in 2012 as the fifth generation and has managed the cultivation of approximately 30 hectares of vineyards since 2016. In 2015, his outstanding work earned him recognition as Young Winemaker of the Nahe Region by the Genussmagazin Selection magazine, followed by listings in Eichelmann and Gault Millau.
  • VINIFICATION: The vines grow in both lighter and heavier soils. A preliminary harvest takes place approximately 23 weeks before the main harvest so the vines can focus their energy on the best remaining grapes. Yields are reduced to approximately 6,0008,000 L/ha. Temperature-controlled fermentation takes place at approximately 1820C for 1421 days, followed by at least three months of storage on the full lees. Wood is deliberately not used in order to highlight the varietal characteristics.
