The GingerLead Mini Sling is generally intended for breeds weighing less than 6.8 kg or for male Dachshunds. The support pad is 3.8 cm wide, and the straps, including the support pad, adjust from 71.1 to 175.3 cm in length. A chest harness is not included. GingerLead's patented design combines a padded belly sling with a leash and handle to help dogs with weak hind legs walk. It is suitable for older or disabled dogs that need assistance with balance or mobility, dogs with arthritis, degenerative myelopathy, or other debilitating conditions, and dogs recovering from knee, hip, or back injuries. It can also be used as a recovery sling after procedures such as IVDD treatment, patellar luxation treatment, TPLO, TTA, TPO, total hip replacement, and FHO. It may help dogs affected by degenerative myelopathy or CDRM, hip dysplasia, arthritis, back or spinal injuries, fibrocartilaginous embolism, wobbler syndrome, hind-leg amputation, or hind-leg paralysis, as well as dogs struggling with stairs. To measure the support pad width, measure from the front of the hind legsbefore the penis in male dogsto the base of the dog's chest. Tip: A sheet or bath towel can be folded to simulate different pad widths and help determine the best fit. See the product images for the size chart. To determine the strap size, start where the GingerLead handle rests in your hand while standing upright, continue under your dog's belly and around the other side, then return to your hand to complete the loop. If the measurement is 94 cm or less, the size "large" should be considered. The GingerLead is a support and rehabilitation harness that helps dogs with weak hind legs walk.
