Description

• Effective positioning device for a flaccid arm.
• Research has shown that a properly fitted GivMohr Sling is effective for reducing shoulder subluxation and improving gait.
• Suitable for individuals with stroke, ALS, brain injury, brachial plexus injury, post-polio syndrome, transverse myelitis, central cord syndrome, and other neurological conditions.
• Benefits include reducing shoulder subluxation and shoulder pain, supporting the arm in a functional position, improving balance and gait, protecting the affected arm, enabling controlled arm swing, improving activities of daily living, and allowing easy use by the wearer.
• For proper fit, the initial fitting should be performed by a physical or occupational therapist (PT or OT). Once secured by a therapist using the 4-tab buckle, no further adjustment should be needed.
• Fit checklist while standing: shoulder subluxation reduced; shoulder in neutral rotation; four tabs optimally positioned and locked; axillary pad comfortable; elbow flexed less than 30 degrees; elbow strap 1 inch (2.5 cm) below the elbow and horizontal; wrist cross centered over the wrist; handpiece conforms to the contour of the hand.
• Blue stripes should face the body.
• Size S: height 1.52 m1.52 m; weight 45.463.5 kg.
• If the height and weight ranges indicate different sizes, consider where the patient carries their weight. Give priority to the weight range when weight is carried higher on the body (chest/shoulders), and priority to the height range when weight is carried lower on the body (abdomen/hips).
