Description

Glyceryl Stearate SE is a nonionic, plant-based emulsifier supplied in the form of small flakes. It is suitable for creams with a fat phase of 2040%. For fat phases above 40%, Glyceryl Stearate SE can also be mixed with Lamecreme. This emulsifier must be used within a pH range of 6.808.20. In an acidic environment, Glyceryl Stearate tends to become unstable. Directions: Heat the fat phase to approximately 65C and add the Glyceryl Stearate. The water phase should be added at the same temperature. Do not stir too vigorously; mix gently and allow to cool undisturbed. If no additional emulsifier is used, Glyceryl Stearate tends to develop a moist application behavior after a few days, meaning that the cream quickly releases water. To prevent this, add an additional 0.20.4% gelling agent PNC or transparent Xanthan, or alternatively 12% Lysolecithin. Base formulations can be found here. INCI: Glyceryl Stearate SE
