Equisetum arvense Cut, wild-harvested Also known as horsetail or field horsetail. Horsetail is a herbal medicinal product. Internally, it is used to flush the urinary tract, for kidney gravel, and for post-traumatic and static edema. Externally, it supports the treatment of poorly healing wounds. Horsetail was formerly used to clean tin objects because of its high silica content (crystals). This herb has a variety of uses as tea, in baths, wraps, poultices, steam baths, and creams. Important note: Always infuse with vigorously boiling water and steep for at least 510 minutes. Only in this way will you obtain a safe food product.
