Processing: FINigrana shea butter is handcrafted from the kernels of the African shea tree. Traditionally, shea butter is produced by women, which is why it is also known as the gold of women. Due to its valuable ingredients, organic shea butter is suitable for daily skin and body care for all skin types, especially dry, sensitive, mature, or allergy-prone skin. It can help reduce stretch marks during and after pregnancy and provides protective care for sensitive baby skin and delicate children's skin. Thanks to its high proportion of unsaponifiable components, shea butter helps protect the skin from drying out, nourishes it, replenishes its lipids, provides moisture, and provides lasting care. FINigrana organic shea butter was dermatologically tested by DERMATEST Mnster in January 2026 and rated "Very Good." FINigrana organic shea butter comes from the AGRIFASO project, an organic and fair-trade project founded in Burkina Faso in 1999 by German project manager Hermann Schopferer. As an expert on the region and its people, he selected the rainy southwestern region of Burkina Faso because of its high population of shea trees. The African shea tree, botanically known as Vitellaria paradoxa, grows mostly as a solitary tree and can reach up to 20 meters in height. It bears its first fruit after 20 years. The shea nuts are harvested once a year, and organic certification is carried out. From June to August, women's groups from surrounding villages collect the shea nuts, which are then dried, sorted, and shelled. At the AGRIFASO production facility, water is added to the shea nuts. The resulting mixture is heated and stirred until the shea butter can be skimmed off. It is then filtered and filled for further processing. The producer communities receive a fair price for their shea butter.
