Refractometer for seawater and marine aquariums, with a range of 0100 ppt. This optical refractometer (salinity meter) has a scale ranging from 0100 ppt (010%), with a reading resolution of 1 ppt. It is designed for measuring seawater, including marine aquariums, or very low-concentration salt solutions. The second scale measures the density of salt solutions from 1.000 to 1.070 g/cm, with a resolution of 0.001 g/cm. Typical salinity ranges of selected aqueous solutions: 1. Fresh water: <0.5 ppt. 2. Brackish water: 0.530 ppt. 3. Saltwater (seawater): 3050 ppt. 4. Brine: 50 ppt. A salinity of 36 ppt means 36 g of salt in 1 liter of aqueous solution. Measuring liquid is simple: place a few drops of liquid on the optical section of the refractometer, cover the prism so the liquid spreads across it, and look through the eyepiece toward a light source.
